So this Gif was posted to reddit yesterday. 8,207 individual people upvoted it. But something that greatly disturbed me also happened. Lots and lots and lots of tears were shed over the “fact” that if the races were reversed then it would be racist.  

Uhhh, am I the only one in the world who things it is already racist because it is playing off the very dangerous very racist “Angry Black Woman” trope? This is seriously damaging shit to WoC. It is racist. I can’t believe it was an ad that was actually aired on modern television.

I realized that site was garbage when I made a topic asking about foreign countries that were safe/good to visit if you were non-white and not only was it downvoted, but people were acting like I asked a stupid fucking question.

I remember this bullshit. It was an actual Superbowl commercial where the Black woman was portrayed as controlling, domineering and just plain MEAN to the POOR BLACK MAN who wanted to eat junk food.

The only time she wasn’t mean to him was when she saw him drinking Diet Pepsi. And then this white girl runs by and she gets all mean again.
